Sheriff Erck`s Final Fair

| For over three decades the current Ward Country Sheriff has looked over people`s safety at the fair. But next year when Sheriff Vern Erck visits the fair, it won`t be in uniform. Erck is retiring at the end of the year and says he enjoys the atmosphere at the fair and the friendly people. He says this year has been exceptionally quiet because the majority of people are behaving themselves "I think it`s been really good. The crowds have been really great. This is my last year, I`m going to miss it. Everyone is in good spirits, it`s been a good one," says Erck. The only problem the sheriff`s department has run into is two stolen vehicles last Saturday. Both of those vehicles have been recovered. |
