Bakken Investors Discuss Housing Needs | Video

Evan Kruegel | 4/3/2012

The Bakken Conference touched heavily on housing concerns by investors. Many are concerned about investing in an area where employees cannot even find housing. The state has placed a goal of adding 5,000 homes in the next 24 months.

Despite the difficulties, Economic Director Tom Rolfstad thinks it`s a realistic number.

“We`re very much about stimulating additional development, and if I could have 5000 more homes in 12 months I`d be even more tickled, but 5000 homes is a big project so I think it`s going to take some time to do that. I think it`s an obtainable goal and the conference today helped invigorate people so hopefully each successive year we can develop more than the previous year,” said Rolfstad.

The Bakken Investor Conference continues Wednesday at the Sleep Inn and Suites in Minot.
