BSC Gets National Ranking | Video

Kristin Clouston | 7/10/2012

BSC is now ranked fourth in the nation for producing energy related graduates. Community College Week, an independent national publication, used data from the US Department of Education to determine the top degree producing community colleges in the nation.

BSC was grouped with four year institutions because it offers a bachelor`s degree in applied science and energy management.

Kari Knudson, Vice President of the Natural Energy Center for Excellence said, "I think it`s exciting to see BSC recognized on a national level. We`ve been working with the energy industry for over 40 years starting with the lineman program in 1970. So it`s exciting to see some recognition for the college for the number of degrees that are produced specifically related to the engineering and energy field."

Companies in the energy industry asked BSC to start the bachelors degree program to help employees advance in their careers. The school has offered it since 2008.
