Farm Bill Update | Video

Jessica Roose | 8/3/2012

More than a month after the Senate passed its version of a new Farm Bill, the House still hasn`t voted on one. The current Farm Bill is set to expire at the end of September and now it looks like the bill will not be up for consideration until about two weeks before the deadline.

North Dakota Representative Rick Berg has asked the House leadership to bring the bill to the floor for a vote. Today, his Democratic opponent Pam Gulleson expressed frustration over the situation.

Berg will be discussing the farm bill at a roundtable in Fargo on Monday with Representative Kristi Noem from South Dakota.

The legislation is backed by both parties and made it through the Senate with a 64-35 vote.
