Valley News Live | 8/7/2012

A Grand Forks man`s string of fleeing police in high speed chases has ended, after a passing motorist spotted him and tipped off police. Juan Angel Robles, 31, is behind bars tonight facing a string of charges.

Robles was involved in two chases on Friday in Grand Forks, one on Sunday in Fargo and he was finally caught after fleeing again today.

Today`s chase, which reached speeds of 100-miles per hour, ended on a county road near Merryfield, three miles southwest of Grand Forks. Robles swerved to miss a road crew and crashed.

Then he tried to run away.

"He continued to run for the road crew`s repair truck. At that time officers tased him in the vicinity of the vehicle," said Lt. Roger Pohlman with the Grand Forks Police.

Pohlman says they havent finished figuring out what will be a long string of charges against Robles. They will include Reckless Endangerment and Fleeing Police.
