If you`re shopping for back to school and have a smart phone, there are some apps that can help you out. There are apps available to help with many aspects of back to school shopping.

The sales tax calculator (free for Android) helps calculate sales taxes.

Car Finder (free for Android) will help you locate your vehicle in the parking lot.

And the Local Sales and Deals Shopping app (free for Android and iPhone) can find deals nearby, which helps if you`re on a budget.

"Another thing that parents and children are looking for now is with back to school, they`re looking to save money and time when they`re out shopping," said Verizon Wireless Manager Nicolle Fleck.

In addition to smartphones, laptops, graphing calculators and flash drives are popular tech items this year as well.
