New Highway Project Begins Southwest of Williston

According to the North Dakota Department of Transportation, crews will begin work on a highway project today southwest of Williston. The project will be on Highway 2 for 4.5 miles, from 128th St. NW to 141st Street.

The NDDOT says that the project will consist of enhancing the roadway system for increased traffic needs.

They add that during construction:

- Traffic will be reduced to one-lane in each direction in a head to head fashion in the eastbound lanes for approximately 10 days and then all traffic will be switched to the westbound lanes in a similar fashion for approximately 10 days.

- Temporary signals will be in place and flaggers may be present

- A 12 foot width restriction will be in place

- Speeds may be reduced

- Motorists may experience delays
