Parking Ramps | Video

Sarahbeth Ackerman | 11/6/2012

The Minot City Council approved the Magic Fund grant for two parking ramps in downtown Minot yesterday.

Most City Council members were in favor of taking Community grant money to put toward the Imagine Minot Project.

The project will take place at the parking ramps just north of the U.S Bank and west of the Wells Fargo bank.

City Council committed to give 3 million dollars from the community grant fund, with other funding from the developers, Cypress Development.

Councilman, Bob Miller says he is pleased with the outcome of last night`s meeting because the project will increase the economic growth throughout the town.

"And at this point we have nearly 3,000 job openings in Minot so that`s critical that we create housing, affordable housing and housing in an environment that is going to be extraordinarily attractive," says Bob Miller, City Council Rep.

They are hoping to begin construction in the two lots in early spring.
