Grocery Stores Gearing-Up for Holidays | Video

With only a few weeks until Thanksgiving, local grocery stores are gearing up for the holiday. Market Place Foods is expecting a rush of Thanksgiving and holiday shoppers. The store is already putting up holiday decorations, and are bringing in two to three truck-loads of goods every night to keep shelves full.

With so many people from other states living in Minot, the store is picking up some interesting holiday items.

“We have a lot of new customers due to oil or trucking or construction, so they`re asking for a lot of different items that maybe we aren`t used to. Seafood items that they`re used to down in the southern states that we don`t normally carry. Those are fun, interesting things we get to dive into a little bit,” said store director Jeff Berg.

Berg is expecting holiday customer numbers to increase from last year.
