"I think we always had our hearts set on the Wizard of Oz just because its such a neat production and our philosophy has always been go big or go home, and if people come to this show they`ll see that. The sets are big, the music is big, the whole performance is a very big show," said director Ann Koperski.
The lead is played by Mary Reinke, who says her role is her favorite one yet.
"It`s just a classic, and it`s thrilling to be playing a part that Judy Garland played. I love it."
Tin Man Skyler Thornton says the 70 member cast, orchestra and tech crew are nervous for opening night, but they`re fully prepared.
"We definitely have a very good vibe throughout the group, there`s no drama and we`re all happy to work with one another. So it should be a very good show."
The cast rehearsed for nine weeks getting ready for the show, and they expect community support and attendance to be strong.
"It’s a family-friendly show that allows kids to come out. It allows adults to come out. It`s a story that`s known from the little kids to the oldest of people. So we really encourage everyone to come out and visit and meet the kids and see what Williston high school has to offer,” said Koperski.
Shows Saturday and Sunday will begin at 2:00 pm in the Williston High School Auditorium.
