Although a lot of deals technically started on Thanksgiving night, the shopping extravaganza is still sticking to it`s original name. Stores such as Target, Macy`s, and Walmart are all spreading the word online. Target Tweeted, "Beat the rush sale it`s on. Start saving now."
Macy`s asked, "What`s on your Black Friday list?"
Walmart got people ready by tweeting, "Our #BLACKFRIDAY circular is here."
So, if you went out shopping earlier, post your experience and use #BLACKFRIDAY!
Social media users don`t just love Tweeting about their shopping trips, they love showing off their Thanksgiving Feast! Food, food and more food is flooding Fascebook timelines everywhere. Here are the numbers: There were 156,441 total mentions using the words "thanksgiving dinner." The most popular side dishes? Stuffing came out on top with a little over 38,000 mentions on Twitter.
According to Facebook, the day everyone talks about Thanksgiving? Friday! I`ll post the full graphic on the Country Morning Today Facebook page for more social media turkey day facts.
What`s the best way to wrap up the Thanksgiving holiday? Well trending locally is the Downtown Turkey Crawl! This Saturday is the 4th annual Downtown Turkey Crawl. Starting at 2:00, for only five dollars, you get a mug and walk around downtown to the seven participating bars filling up your mug as you go. This event is sponsored by Y93 and Mcquade Distributing.
Shannon McQuade Ely says it`s a great way to wrap up the holiday, "Basically it`s a way to get people familiar with the downtown bar locations, great way to have fun after Thanskgiving and Black Friday. Get a group of friends together."
