Flags to be Flown at Half Staff for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

| 12/6/2012

The Governor has directed all state government agencies and encouraged all North Dakotans to fly flags at half-staff on December 7 in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Governor Jack Dalrymple`s directive is in accordance with the U.S. flag code and a proclamation issued by the President.

"As we mark the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, we honor the more than 3,500 Americans who were killed or wounded on that solemn day, and recognize the veterans who, with courage and perseverance, changed the course of history during World War II," Dalrymple said. "When it mattered most, an entire generation of patriots stepped forward to defend our homeland and our way of life, driven by the heroism and resolve that defined that fateful day at Pearl Harbor."
