Rabid Cat Found in Jamestown

People who were exposed to a rabid cat found in Jamestown are asked to contact the Department of Health. The cat was found by animal control on November 30 close to the Tesoro gas station at 2015 8th Avenue Southwest. The female cat was an orange and white tabby with long hair and was declawed.

The cat tested positive for rabies.

The cat`s owners are not known. It is also not known if the cat is from Jamestown or was dropped off there. If you are missing a cat matching that description, or if you believe that any of your animals were bitten or otherwise exposed to the saliva of the cat, you are asked to contact your veterinarian.

Anybody who was bitten or exposed to the cat`s saliva are asked to contact the Department of Health.
