Evan Kruegel | 12/13/2012

New Public School District 8 has had to deal with it`s fair share of budget difficulties this year, as increased enrollment brings new demands. This week, they got some good news in the form of a sizeable state grant.

District officials found out they will be receiving just over $103,000 from the state`s oil and gas impact fund. Money which they say will be used for bus repairs and curriculum costs.

To qualify for the grant, a school district must have an increase in enrollment of at least seven percent over the previous year. This year, District 8 had a 27 percent increase, with 57 more students.
