The district needs upwards of $60 million to complete all the projects they need, including construction of a brand new middle school, renovation of an existing elementary school and updates to the current high school.
Superintendent Viola LaFontaine says legislators informed her that more funding would be available for oil and gas impacted schools in the coming year, so the district must now rely on that funding to come through.
"I can go before the Governor and legislators and say, `Here`s what we`ve tried locally, but it`s not enough to meet all our needs, and here`s X amount of dollars more we need.` And then they would hopefully put some money into the projects as well."
