The national AgrAbility project is a tool that can help farmers continue to stay active and work on the farm. Some older individuals may have a disability, back pain, or arthritis and struggling to do their job. AgrAbility recommends new technologies that can make their work easier.
Mike Rexin, Trinity Hospital Physical Therapist, explains, “This gives them ideas of how they can make adjustments to their farm so that they can continue farming. Whether it be adding some step to equipment or using different tools for more extreme things such as adding lifts to tractors or other things to help them so they can continue working.”
