Flood Funds | Video

Julie Leonardi | 2/9/2013

Minot city officials are asking homeowners that are interested in re-building or fixing their flood damaged home to apply for federal grant money. If you meet the qualifications, you could get up to $150,000 to build a new home.

Minot set aside these funds to help low income residents with their damaged home. If you are eligible, the money is there to help re-build in the spring when the weather breaks.

City Finance Director, Cindy Hemphill, encourages people to apply. “Individuals that are flood survivors know that this grant is available and if it`s not reconstruction, there are still funds available on rehabilitation. We would certainly like to have more people step forward and see if they`re eligible and go through the process so that we can hopefully help more individuals with reconstructions or rehabilitating their homes.”

If you`re still not sure if you qualify, you can stop by the Minot Disaster Recovery Office in Arrowhead Mall.
