The heat will be turned up a notch Wednesday with highs in the 80s. Southeast winds will average 15-30 mph, but gusts could reach 40 mph in southwest North Dakota by early afternoon. Because of this, a Wind Advisory is in effect through this evening for viewers across the southwest.
There is a chance for severe thunderstorms in Montana and western North Dakota this afternoon and evening. A few storms may develop across parts of central North Dakota as well. If this happens, these storms also the potential of becoming strong to severe.
Chances for thunderstorms, some severe, will continue into Saturday. Given the increasing moisture available in the atmosphere, chances for heavy rain will be likely in the storms.
Looking ahead to the last week of June and early July, hot weather may develop with highs in the 90s.
